Puerto Viejo de Talamanca · Caribbean Coast, Costa Rica
A jungle sanctuary where ceremony, rest, and the rainforest meet. Come as a guest on one of our retreats — or hold your own here.
Evolution House sits between rainforest and farmland on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, minutes from the sea and wrapped in jungle life. Every part of the property was built for the work: an open-air maloca for ceremony, quiet corners for integration, communal tables for long shared meals, and beds that let the body genuinely rest.
Plant medicine, sound, breath, movement, and nature meet here in one container — held by experienced practitioners, surrounded by hummingbirds, toads, sloths, monkeys, toucans, and the warm rain of the Caribbean coast.

The Heart of the Property
A wide hardwood deck beneath a thatched roof, open on all sides to the jungle. This is where the Ayahuasca ceremonies are held through the night, where morning yoga unrolls at sunrise, and where sound baths, breathwork, cacao circles, and fire spinning fill the days between.
House One
Three stories of light, hardwood, and hand-finished stone rising into the canopy. The lower two levels hold five bedrooms — one king, two queens, one full, and one single — along with two full bathrooms, a chef's kitchen, marble rainfall showers, and a live-edge dining table long enough for the whole group to gather. The third level opens to the sky as our open-air ceremony maloca, complete with two half baths, where the jungle itself becomes the walls.

Houses Two & Three
Houses Two and Three are twin jungle bungalows, almost identical in layout and spirit. Each is raised on stilts beneath a thatched roof, with a breezy loft, an enclosed A/C bedroom, a kitchenette, and one full bathroom with a glass wall looking straight into the green. Each bungalow sleeps four guests.

A large thatched deck built for ceremony, yoga, sound healing, and breathwork — open on all sides to the jungle.
Up to 13 singles, or a mix of singles and couples up to 16, across the main jungle house and two bungalows.
One full chef's kitchen in the main house and two kitchenettes in the bungalows, plus a live-edge communal dining table.
Walk-in rainfall showers with jungle-facing windows, finished in local stone and hardwood.
An outdoor fire pit ringed with seating for evening circles, fire spinning, and star-gazing.
Set between rainforest and farmland, with neighbours nearby — hummingbirds, toads, sloths, monkeys, toucans and more fill the trees.
Playa Negra is a short drive or about a 30-minute walk from the gate; Puerto Viejo and the coast's best beaches are 15–30 minutes by car.
Air conditioning, ceiling fans, hot water, laundry, and Wi-Fi in the common spaces.
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca
The southern Caribbean is Costa Rica's wildest, warmest corner — reef beaches, black sand, cacao farms, and jungle that starts where the sand ends. Playa Negra is a short drive or a 30-minute walk from the gate; Puerto Viejo, Playa Cocles, Punta Uva, Playa Chiquita, and Manzanillo are all 15–30 minutes by car.

15–30 minutes by car: calm, reef-sheltered turquoise water framed by palms — the swimming beach of the Caribbean coast.

A short drive or about a 30-minute walk from the gate: volcanic black sand and dramatic sunsets, a favourite spot for sunrise sits and closing ceremonies.

15–30 minutes by car: markets, live music, cacao farms, and Afro-Caribbean cooking. Playa Cocles and Playa Chiquita are along the way.

From the property, reach jungle trails, waterfall swims, sloth sanctuaries, and the reef-lined shores of Manzanillo within a short drive.
